Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder has all the ingredients to be the sport's biggest fight.

After Fury floated the possibility in a video update on his social media platforms, many dismissed the possibility.

Anthony Joshua and Eddie Hearn had been locked in talks with the American over the potential for a super fight to decide the undisputed world heavyweight champion.

But after talks broke down and Team AJ opted for a mandatory defence against Alexander Povetkin, the opportunity is now there for Fury to swoop in and step up to the plate for his own super fight.

Here's everything we know right now about Fury vs Wilder:

When and where would the fight take place?

Both camps seem confident that a Las Vegas bout between the two could be arranged for December or maybe even as early as November according to reports in the States. The time of the year appears to rule out a stadium fight in the UK.

Fury makes his second comeback fight against Francesco Pianeta on August 18, and British promoter Frank Warren has said that a fight between Fury and Wilder could materialise should the latter emerge from his August fight unharmed and undefeated.

Wilder is also due a mandatory for his WBC belt, with Dominic Breazeale, who lost to Anthony Joshua in 2016, next up. The Bronze Bomber must face his compatriot before the end of the year and a Fury super fight in November or December would either see the Breazeale fight happen a few months before or not at all in 2018, meaning step-aside money would be required.

What channel would the fight be on?

The fight would likely land on BT Sport's soon to be launched Box Office channel in the UK, with Showtime pay-per-view broadcasting the event in the United States.

What has Warren said about the fight?

Asked by talkSPORT who Fury would fight next, promoter Frank Warren said: “Well, actually they’re [Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora] two competitive and very good fighters but, with due respect to them, we’re actually trying to make the fight with Deontay Wilder.

“First of all we want to see what he looks like on the August 18. Hopefully he will come through it well, but reports from the gym are that he’s looking well.

“Tyson, as he’s said himself, has been talking about Wilder in the last few weeks and it’s a fight I think the British fans would like to see.

“It wouldn’t happen in the autumn, if it happens it will be sometime in November or December.

“That’s where I would like to see him, providing he comes through okay and that’s no disrespect to anybody. He’s the lineal champion. He’s the guy who hasn’t been beaten. He lost his belt outside the ring.

“I’m pretty confident we can make it happen. It takes two to make a deal and if you really want to make a deal you will make it happen.”

What has Fury said about the fight?

Fury himself used a Twitter video to update his followers on negotiations behind the scenes.

“Very close to being done,” the Gypsy King said. ” … We’re almost done with this deal.

“But I won’t be overlooking Francesco Pianeta, he’s going to give me the right fight and the right work to prepare me for Deontay Wilder. I’ve gotta flatten him first and then Wilder, let’s dance.

“You’ve been dealing with p*ssies in the past in (Eddie) Hearn and (Anthony) Joshua, but I am a man of me word and if I say I’ll fight, I’ll fight ya.”

What are the bookies’ odds?

Looking at the bookies, Fury is the favourite with a best price of 4/6, with Wilder coming in at a best price of 11/10.
